Sofia 01

Background/History: For Sofia, much of her childhood is a mystery. Her earliest memories are of when she was 12 and living in a State run orphanage, before that everything is a complete blank. Her next clear memories are of attending a State-run school when she was 15. It was at this point she first came under the scrutiny of the Komitet Gosudarstvennoi Bezopasnosti (i.e. the KGB), who quickly pronounced her suitable for the new Soviet Super Soldier Program.

Taken away to a secret facility, Sofia soon found herself being used as a virtual guinea pig for a number of medical experiments, all of which seemed to frequent injections. Much to Sofia's surprise, these constant injections actually seemed to have a purpose, as she found herself becoming taller, faster, stronger and more developed far quicker than the onset of puberty and the KGB's own exercise program should allow for.

The physical development of Sofia (and other test subjects) was sufficiently advanced that the Soviet scientists were able to declare their program a success, paving the way for a whole host of "super soldiers" that would be able to challenge the American 'super heroes' and Chinese National Heroes on their own terms. Sofia meanwhile, was then sent to a new facility, to start on stage two of her training: espionage.

For the next several years Sofia was taught how to be a spy. She learned the languages of western Europe, the military doctrine of NATO, how to move among the circles of the social elite and how to move among the dregs of the cities of the west. She was taught how to defend herself, and received extensive training in the use of the whip (an eclectic weapon to be sure, but not without its uses). And when her training was finished, she was sent out to pry what secrets she could from the servants of the West.

Sofia remained a loyal Soviet operative for many years, until the arrival of Gorbachev change the way the Soviet Union thought and acted. Sofia, who was no one's fool, realized she could see the handwriting on the wall. The Soviet Union was finished. Oh, it still had a few more years ago, but she could see it coming. The once-strong Iron Curtain was coming down piece by piece and soon the after shocks of the collapse of the Communist Bloc would be felt all though the military and intelligence community.

It was at this point that Sofia made t he toughest decision of her life. She had seen what such shakeups could result in, firings, prison sentences, trips to Siberian gulags and pogroms among the ranks. So, she decided to leave. Gathering up a disillusioned East German who went by the name of Matrix, as well as freeing a captured CIA operative, Sofia headed east towards the Pacific, intending to hide somewhere in Asia. Of course, it stood to reason that even with the decline of the Soviet Union there would still be the need for spies, and perhaps she could put some of her skills to use in new ways....

Personality/Motivation: Sofia's recent experiences have done much to alter her perceptions of the world around her. She has seen that for all their talk and posturing, the major world powers are more alike than they think. In return, Sofia has turned her back on the policies and politics of the superpowers and has chosen to make her own way in the world. Gathering together the Femmes Fatale is a major part of this plan, as she understands that individually each of the Femmes Fatale could not stand alone, and only by joining together can they hope to protect and aid each other.

Although she has not entirely given up on the ideas of communism, Sofia hasn't totally embraced capitalism either. She runs the team based on the ideas of 'pure' communism, meaning that no one team member is above anyone else and that all profits are shared equally. Of course, Sofia also has adopted a bit of a socialist attitude, in which she - as team leader - decides where most of the money goes and who gets it. Her main goal is to ensure everyone is content, as happy team members are less likely to cause trouble (and are more likely to follow her orders). Finally, Sofia is rather satisfied with many of the aspects of capitalism, as it allows her to demand (and get) excellent fees for her team's services.

Sofia herself is unsure of her plans for the future. Right now her biggest worry is what will become of the Soviet Union. Hsien-ko has assured her of its collapse, and Sofia is uneasy about what that could mean to the world. She knows that there are many others like her in Russia, and a sudden flood of ex-Soviet 'super soldiers' could mean a great deal of trouble in the near future. She is also worried about how long the team will be able to stay together. She knows that Sakura is going to want to go her own way at some point, and once she goes, Roomi (and possibly) Hsien-ko might follow. On the other hand, Sofia has learned that one can't worry to much about the unpredictable, and she will cross that bridge when she comes to it.

Quote: "All my life I have heard about communism, capitalism, socialism and fascism... I have seen all of these in action and have decided that the true path is Sofiaism, in which, I, Sofia, looks out for what is best for myself and my team."

Sofia 02

Powers/Tactics: Sofia's exposure to the Soviet super-soldier serum has granted her increased strength, reflexes, endurance and agility. She is never sick, can run long distances with ease, and seems to never get tired. Her espionage schooling has included some martial arts training as well as instruct on using the whip as a weapon.

In combat Sofia tends to be out in front, directing her team and analyzing the enemy. Although she prefers to avoid an unnecessary conflict, neither will she shirk from a fight. When involved a fight, Sofia favors using her whip, as it's great length allows her to attack targets all over the battlefield. Normally, she tries to trip, tie up or disarm foes, thus allowing Sakura, Roomi and Matrix to deal with them easily. If pressed closely, she'll use the Hand Attack slot to take her opponent down, and if that doesn't work she'll switch to the Rattlesnake (putting all her levels into OCV). If surrounded, Sofia will use her Aurora Revolution, loudly announcing it's use in order to warn her team mates what to expect (a tactic used by most members of the Femme Fatales).

Appearance: Sofia stands a full 6' tall with a face and figure like that of a goddess. She is tanned, with long legs and a trim, but well-endowed build. Her thick blond hair is kept tied back in a ponytail although strands sometimes fall down into her green eyes. The super-soldier formula given to Sofia makes her look like she is in her mid-twenties, although in reality, she's a good ten years older than that.

When in the field, Sofia wears an outfit consisting of a tight-fitting armored bodysuit in black that leaves her arms and legs bare. Red gloves that come up to her shoulders and thigh-high black boots complete the costume. As a weapon, Sofia carries a very long whip.
