Background/History: dward Aldrich used to be a denizen of Columbus, Ohio. ÒUsed toÓ is the operative phrase here. Generally unsatisfied with his life in general, both at home (for a large number of reasons that he would just rather not get into) and in the "collective armpit of this god-forsaken country".

One significant source of Edward's dissatisfaction came from his interests, which were quite unlike those of his peers. In high school, when most male students were interested in sports, experimenting with any number of substances, popularity or grades, Edward was interested in this relatively unknown genre (at the time) called anime. Ask him what that is, and Edward would be more than happy to explain what it is in (sometimes extensively boring) detail. Because of his esoteric interests, Edward did not have a lot of friends growing up, so at the earliest opportunity, he left home to join the U.S. Army. Edward viewed his time in the Army as an opportunity to travel the world, to get away from home and, hopefully find his personal niche.

Undeterred, Don got a job as an airline pilot and now guides the huge airborne buses across the globe. His plan is to make enough money to buy a plane of his own and start a small charter company in the Caribbean.

Edward left the Army after almost 10 years of service and moved to Maryland. This served multiple purposes for Edward; first and foremost, it put him in, what he considered, Anime Central, U.S.A. (not to be confused with Anime-Central!) due to the fairly large number of anime conventions in the area. Next, it put him in a location where he could find reasonable employment, using his Army experience as a gateway, and lastly, he was far enough from Ohio to be just out of reach of his family, but close enough to go home if he, for some unknown, reason needed to go home.

Personality/Motivation: Edward, first and foremost, loves anime. Almost everything that he says or does is influenced by the genre. Even if he does not actually say or do something, the thought crossed his mind at least once before opening his mouth. A prime example is EdwardÕs choice of M.O.S. for the army: Armor Crewman. In his mind, tanks were the closest thing in the real world to mecha and giant robots, and being a tanker meant that this was the closest he would ever get to being a mecha-jock.

Quote:

Powers/Tactics: Edward would rather spend his time watching anime than going out, except of course, unless it involved in going to any number of anime conventions. Edward is a reasonable artist, mimicking the anime/manga style of course. Professionally, he is a computer technician with no real specialization.
