Background/History: Calvin was your average kid with an overactive imagination. He spent as much time traveling the cosmos as he did avoiding his homework. As he grew up, he developed an interest in drawing and video games. This let him play in less mundane settings and bend the world to his will, not bound by real life's constraints. He spent most of his high school career huddled in a corner drawing, and trying not to draw the attention of the unpleasant people who reminded him of how unsavory or boring real people can be.
Between the bullies, the awkward social situations, the everyday hum-drum, and just how boring the landscape itself got to be, Calvin became increasingly dissatisfied with everything. In his free time, he would sketch up new worlds and fill them with new characters. Better people for his better world. No longer would there be Doris the lunch lady. Now he would deal with Doris: Overlord of Cafeterion. The world and people in his head were always more pleasant than the reality he lived in. Wouldn't it be much better if he could erase and change things as easily as his sketches?
After high school was over with, it was time to join the rat-race. At this point Calvin was certain that people weren't meant to live like this.
Personality/Motivation: Artist. Gamer. Escapist. Consummate Nerd. While not a total introvert, Calvin was never the social butterfly. He wasn't so much timid as disinterested in conversing, as it wouldn't matter what he said because nothing would change. A lot of his time is spent making characters to play in games or to put in comic books or world building for both.
Quote: "That worked out so much better in my head."
