TERRACIDE
THE TERRACIDE GALAXY
This list is by no means complete. It's a big galaxy, chock-full of bad craziness.
Locations In The Core Systems
- Terra: Homeworld of Humanity. Destroyed in 2389.
- Alpha Centauri A: Site of UNISTAR's largest remaining military base.
- Alpha Centauri B: Former site of Ammonite trade mission. Site of first UN trade mission and colony, New Geneva.
- Barnard's Star: Titan outpost, former home of the Ophiuchi syndicate, currently has truce with TIO.
- Cincinnati: Site of failed UN space colony. Home to various illegal squatters.
- Groombridge 34Aa/b: Monticello Colony, large TIO-sponsored colony near the core.
- Groombridge 34B: Mandala Free Station, independent trading post near the Keeper enclave.
- Procyon: Fluorian outpost. Site of 3rd UN trade mission and colony, Nueva Sierra
- Proxima Centauri: Nearest Keeper outpost.
- Sirius: Site of the Space Studies Institute, largest remaining human scientific center.
- Wolf 359: Jovian enclave at large gas giant. Site of 2nd UN trade mission and colony, Esperanza.
Locations In The Outer Territories (outside UNISTAR control)
- 47 Ursae Majoris: Site of Dyson tree experimental colony founded by Greenspace.
- 61 Cygni: First TIO-sponsored space colony.
- 61 Virginis: Possible "homeworld" of the Moravecs.
- 70 Ophiuchi: Another Titan outpost, new HQ of the Ophiuchi Syndicate. Extremely dangerous.
- Achird2: Large Fluorian colony, only 8.6ly from Groombridge.
- Arcturus: Giant star of particular scientific interest. Three missions lost without a trace.
- Iota Pegasi: Nearest large enclave of Cytherians.
- Mu Arae: Location of aquatic colony founded by Living Universe Foundation.
- Pollux: Next closest giant star. Also the objective of two lost missions.
- R Coronae Australis A: Closest giant star to Terra. Two expeditions failed to report back.
- Sigma Draconis: Second TIO-sponsored space colony.
- Tau Ceti: First Independent space colony founded with "public domain" FTL tech.
- Xi Bootis, Xi Ursae Majoris: Independent colonies both sterilized by Venoms.
Unknown: various fringe groups, political, religious, or (anti-) social in nature, have chartered colonies either at Terra or at one of the core TIO offices, then broken off contact with the rest of the human race after their departure. For whatever reason, they desire complete isolation to pursue their own agendas, and as long as all their colonists are volunteers, TIO law permits this. They could settle anywhere. Explorers who happen to find one of these "lost colonies" should use extreme caution, because some of them don't want to be found, and are willing to use lethal force to keep their existence secret. Others actually find that isolation is no longer their best choice, and welcome re-contact at the earliest opportunity, which is very profitable for whoever finds them. It's a crap shoot.
