Background/History: Beedel is Mr. Satan's daughter. She is also known as Vedel, Videl, Beederu, or Biteru. Of the five names, Videl makes the most sense, since it is an anagram of "devil" and fits with her being the daughter of "Mr. Satan." But I am using Beedel since that is the way it is spelled on various signs shown in the manga during the 25th Tenkaichi Budoikai.
We first see Beedel in Volume 36 (7 years after the Cell Game), where she is 17 (the same age as Son Gohan), and attends high school in Satan City. She also acts as a crimefighter on the side and leads the city's amateur law enforcement service. Beedel is the one to uncover Gohan's secret identity as the "Great Saiyaman." While nowhere near as powerful as any of the regular Dragon Ball Z cast, she is much stronger and more competent fighter than her father. Gohan teaches her how to fly, and eventually (after the battle with Majin Buu) she an Gohan get married (and have a daughter—Pan).
Personality/Motivation: For Beedel, being Mr. Satan's daughter is a mixed bag. Her father, although a strong fighter (and winner of several Tenkaichi Budoikai himself), is a flake and a con man, and quite often gets in to trouble way over his head. There is also the fact that everyone knows who she is, where she lives, her who dad is, and the reputation that Mr. Satan has built for himself. There are times where she doesn't care for all the attention.
Beedel falls for Gohan rather quickly, although she won't admit it (at first). She is also very much the "tomboy," dressing in shorts and t-shirts, playing intense sports, learning martial arts, fighting crime—cooking and the like are things she has not learned.
Powers/Tactics: Beedel is pretty typical for a martial artist. She's strong, fast, capable of absorbing punishment, and quite capable of dishing out the damage if needed. Her main "special" power is her ability to use her chi to fly. We never do see her develop any chi attacks, although there is no reason to presume she couldn't.
Appearance: Beedel is of average height, standing about 5'6" or so. She has a slim but strong build, with dark eyes and short dark hair. She used to have long hair, but cut it following a remark by Gohan. Her normal mode of dress is sneakers, long shorts, and a long t-shirt that falls to mid-thigh (or a t-shirt and a tank-top). Her shirts often have "fight" or some other similar word written on them.
