Background/History: Saiyajins come from the planet Vegita, located quite some distance from Earth. They are ruled by a king, and the whole planet makes its living through warfare. They are interstellar mercenaries, conquering planets for Freezer. Eventually Freezer had a falling out with the Saiyajins, and destroyed Vegita and everyone on it.

Known Saiyajins from the manga include Kakarott (Son Goku), Nappa, Raditz, Prince Vegita, and King Vegita,. Saiyajins from the TV series and movies include Bardock, Brolly, Pan Buukin, Parsus, Seripa, Taurus, Tooma, and Toteppo. Seripa is the only female Saiyajin named. Most Saiyajin look to get their names from various vegetables (Kakarott = Carrot, Vegita = Vegetable, Raditz = Radish, Brolly = Broccoli, and so on.).

Personality/Motivation: As a rule, Saiyajins are very arrogant. They consider themselves to be the most powerful race around, the undisputed "Princes of the Universe" and view all other races with contempt. The only person they don't look down on is Freezer, probably because he is the one person in the universe they cannot defeat. They are also supposed to be "inherently evil' and take great joy in combat and fighting.

Powers/Tactics: Saiyajins have a variety of innate racial powers. They are very long lived, have long monkey-like tails that are strong enough to support their own weight, and are physically very strong and powerful. They are all trained in the arts of combat from a young age and have impressive energy (i.e. chi) powers. The character sheet only lists an Energy Blast, but most Saiyajins have several such attacks, usually with such advantages as Autofire, Explosion, or Area of Effect. Other chi powers include various forms of characteristic Aids, usually with some sort of Extra Time limitation.

Naturally, the most impressive power of a Saiyajin is their ability to assume a "were-monkey" form when exposed to a full moon. This form is powerful enough to ravage whole cities, and in concert with several other monkeys, can effectively destroy the population of a planet.

Since virtually all Saiyajins work for Freezer (or did), they all wear armor and the combat scouters. As Freezer's hired mercenaries, Saiyajins are trained in standard combat skills and taught how to pilot a simple spaceship.

Appearance: Saiyajins come in all sizes, from the very short (Vegita looks to only stand about 5'4" or so.) to the very tall (Nappa was much taller then Vegita and may have been a good 7' in height.). Their skin color varies, ranging from pale pink to dark tan or gray. Saiyajins all look to have thick black hair and brown tails. Eye color varies, but tends to be dark. Their warrior lifestyle means that all Saiyajin's are very strongly built and in excellent physical shape.

Saiyajin clothing tends towards battledress at all times. This is a black (or dark blue) bodysuit, with gloves and boots and body armor. The body suit's exact coverage varies, and sometimes only covers the torso, leaving the arms and legs bare. The gloves are optional, while the boots come in a wide variety of styles. The armor is usually white and will cover the torso, shoulders, and sometimes the upper legs.

When achieving Super-Saiyajin mode, the hair turns a bright golden-yellow, and the eyes become bright blue. The body becomes very well defined and the hair becomes long and spiky.

Designer's Notes: This is a basic character template for a Saiyajin. It gives one a good idea of how powerful they are, and why everyone one was so afraid of them. At 339 points, a typical Saiyajin is more than a match for many 250-point superheroes (and nearly tough enough to tackle a 350-pointer), and a group of them can dish out quite a bit of damage on an unexpecting target. Experienced and highly trained Saiyajins will be far more powerful and have a whole host of fighting skills and chi powers.
