Ling Ling Li

Description: Ling-Ling is a black-haired Chinese woman around 5'6" tall and 130 lbs. She has brown eyes and is around 28 years old. Her past is unknown to most, and she never talks much about it, even to her closest friends. Her childhood was a difficult one, but growing up on the dangerous streets of Hong Kong did teach Ling-Ling the value of true friends, money, and martial arts.

She works as the assistant editor of an occult magazine publishing company in Hong Kong, Yougekisha (Monster Buster Inc.), a well known company among the believers of the occult, which later employs Yakumo.

Ling-Ling is an accomplished martial artist, and quite money-hungry. She didn't believe in ghosts, monsters and other supernatural phenomena, and she wouldn't think twice before making up some weird story, complete with adulterated photos, to publish on the magazine; UFOs, Elvis, monster possessions and such subjects were the main attraction on every Yougeki issue, most of which had Ling-Ling's personal touch on them. To quote her own words (to Yakumo!): "We both know monsters and demons don't really exist... but work is work! I may not believe in monsters, but I sure believe in money!"

Things changed after she accepted a well-paid exorcism job in Mrs. Huang Song Lii's house, which turned out to be a REAL demon-hunting experience side-by-side with an immortal boy and his strange girlfriend. She had then to reevaluate her beliefs. Being quite practical, Ling-Ling got used to weird things happening around her very fast, and used it the way she knew better: to make money.

Yougekisha's chief editor (Chen Aguri) had disappeared without further explanations some time before, so Ling-Ling had no major opposition when she decided that the company should enter the exorcism job officially. The Yougeki magazine still exists, and still publishes weird stories about UFOs, monsters and Elvis, complete with adulterated photos; but now there are some interesting articles about demons and exorcism inside, with real photos of strange creatures, and the sales experience a major boost every time some crazy story about monsters running amok on Tokyo's streets hit the news, much to Ling-Ling's appraise, as she can get some first-hand inside stories about it from Yakumo quite easily and turn it into yet another Yougeki special issue.
