Description: Chin-Kuu looks like a very large tick (or a cross between a large spider about 12" wide and a ladybug, as it has eight legs instead tick’s six). It is summoned to act as a magical shield, parrying projectiles and other kinetic attacks, and reflecting beam attacks. The Chin-Kuu can deflect magical missiles and beam-like energy bolts, while it can reflect beams weapons (such as lasers or the Kuan-Yaa), and any other light-like creature powers or magical spells. Any attack that can’t be reflected (such as a Sanjiyan’s Power Blast or certain missiles), will be dissipated harmlessly or will simply bounce off of the Chin-Kuu and fall harmlessly to the ground. The Chin-Kuu can also create strong web-like threads. These threads can be spit out at high velocities, and can be used to entangle targets at a distance. The creature also makes for a very good shield, and gives an extra +1 DCV to the wielder.
The Chin-Kuu's magical protection abilities allow for a 12 DEF Force Wall. Any attack exceeding this value will cause it to collapse (requiring the Chin-Kuu to recreate it) and and hit the Chin-Kuu and possibly its wielder. Unfortunately, due to its small size Chin-Kuu doesn't work well against power blasts or other "wide beam" attacks. This is simulated by the "Limited Coverage" Limitation on the Force Wall.
Chin-Kuu will stay around until it fades due to injury (using its Planar Travel ability), and usually will wait quietly wherever its master drops it, or hold tightly to its wielder's arm, resembling a small shield. Finally, the Chin-Kuu can fly for short periods of time.
