THE RED DEATH

Taking his name from the Edgar Alan Poe story, the Red Death is a frightening meta-human of unknown origin. Some say he's a supernatural being, while other think he suffers from a hideous mutation. All is known for sure is he's an operative for DEMON and enjoys the shocked reactions his appearance produces. This image was taken when Red Death posed for a well-known meta-human photographer. Apparently, the photo-shoot appealed to Red Death's sense of vanity—that and it proved his existence, meaning his appearances would be that much more frightening the next time around. The photographer survived the experience, by the way, as Red Death told him "It's not yet your time."
