LION-DRAGON

Large than a lion (or even a tiger for that matter), Lion-Dragons are named due to their thicks manes around the head and neck. Thick brass-colored plates cover their bodies, forming a ridge down the back and turning the tail into a sharp-edged weapon. Their teeth are long and sharp, as are their claws, allowing them to prey on virtually anything -- giant snakes, griffons, crocodiles, and so on. Fortunately, lion-dragons are fairly rare, and normally only found in arid wastes.
