Update:

I regret to report failure to extract full disclosure of the Fox prototype's current whereabouts from the synthetic Hogan. Unfortunately, shortly after our last interrogation session Hogan managed to self-terminate, despite being under watch, thus eliminating any chance of extracting more information.

What information we did successfully extract in the last interrogation session is that Shoko has apparently left Australia, believing that we would not expect her to abandon the legal haven this country represents for synthetics. This view was at least somewhat accurate, in that we had assigned this scenario a low probability.

We believe it was giving up this small piece of information that prompted Hogan's self-termination, as he realized that under continued questioning he would soon break and give us all the information we desired. I don't see how we could have predicated this action on his part; the Nexus series of combat synthetics have a strong survival instinct built in, and we had established early in the interrogation process that Hogan and Shoko has not been lovers. We therefore saw no reason to suspect the sort of emotional bond that would have prompted this sort of altruistic self-sacrifice might have formed between them. Nevertheless, I apologize for my team's failure to predict this possibility.

We have already done a preliminary record search of all modes of international transport from Australia during the time period in question, and found no sign of how Shoko departed, or where she may have gone. More detailed searches are underway at this time, however I suspect a recordless departure was achieved through illicit means. This likely would have required the assistance of others; neither Hogan nor Shoko appear to have possessed the means to accomplish this on their own. Therefore, with your approval, I intend to have the team begin identifying and questioning known associates of Hogan's, as well as checking on local fixers in the area they might have approached.

Do you have any other instructions or suggestions?
