Background/History: Kain Highwind was born and raised in the kingdom of Baron. He was inspired by his late father to become a Dragon Knight, or Dragoon; a warrior who communes with nature. He donned the traditional armour and spear of a Dragoon and joined the Baronian military, making friends with dark knight Cecil Harvey.
When tricked by the king into destroying the village of mist, Kain agrees to oppose Baron with Cecil. However, the two of them are separated in an ensuing battle, and Kain winds up under the control of Golbez, forced to steal the elemental crystals and kidnap Cecil's fiance, Rosa Farrel. He eventually breaks free of Golbez's control, and journeys with Cecil to redeem himself.
Personality/Motivation: Kain believes in his own personal honour, and is very absorbed in his training. Consequently, he often seems like a loner, but is in reality a good and trustworthy friend. He is also infatuated with Rosa Farrel, and as such envies Cecil. Golbez uses this as powerful leverage on Kain.
Powers/Tactics: Kain's powers come from his intense training and mastery of the spear. He has mastered the famous Dragoon jump attack, where one leaps into the air and comes down, spear-first on top of the victim, impaling them. Treat as a move-through, using the spear. He is also hard to intercept during this move; place his combat levels in DCV.
Appearance: Kain is a young man of 21 with a lean face and long blond hair. He wears the highly distinctive and elaborate armour of a dragoon, particularly the dragon-like helmet that obscures his eyes from view.
