Background: Cid Pollendina is the master engineer of the city-state of Baron. He builds and maintains the airships that give his nation their military might. Through his work, he came to meet the young couple of Rosa Farrel and Cecil Harvey. Cid was somewhat taken by their good nature and nobility, and became fast friends with the pair.

After Cecil was banished from Baron (and Rosa disappeared following him), Cid began to doubt the kings motives. When ordered to finish and deploy his most powerful airship, the Enterprise, Cid refused. The king had him imprisoned, but not before Cid could hide the near-complete airship. He eventually broke out of jail, just in time to find Cecil's party sneaking into Baron. He quickly joined their resistance against Golbez, and supplied them with the Enterprise.

Personality/Motivation:
Cid is a hard worker, dedicated to his machines and particularly the airships he loves. He always wants what is right, and will refuse orders and become completely irrational if he believes his machines are being used for unjust purposes. He is somewhat fearless and reckless, yet refuses to admit that his is no longer a young man. As such, he often overworks himself or takes wild risks.

Tactics/Powers:
Cid is poorly trained for battle. He has great strength despite his age, and wields a heavy engineering hammer with crushing force. He also uses a special scope which he invented that can gauge a target's weaknesses, determining what attacks are most useful against it.

Appearance:
Cid is a short and stocky man. His face is almost permanently obscured by a leather helmet and goggles; what little can be seen is a bushy brown beard and his ever-present toothy grin. He usually gets around in engineering leathers.
