Background/History: Kagato is over 5,000 years old and has destroyed many worlds and sacred artifacts that are not replaceable, he is also the most wanted on the eternity wanted list. Kagato wears only one suit in the OAV series, a blue and green suit with a green cape attacked by two bronze ornaments. His colors are, like his personality, very cool. Greens and blues are his motif but also prefers to make hourglass shaped figures.
Personality/Motivation: Like many Anime characters, Kagato is portrayed as a character with over exaggerated features and emotions. But unlike most characters, he was very calm and collect hence the very slim and deductive eyes.
It is simple, the Galaxy Police want Kagato dead or captured. They don't have the resources or troops to take him down, his ship is too speed and powerful. He is in essence, the most wanted many in the last 4000 years.
One of the most interesting things about Kagato was his disillusion that he made Ryoko (when in fact Washu did). He constantly remarks that the form that she has today is because it was convenient at the time. He threatens her about transforming her into a rock and one point in the story does.
Powers/Tactics: Like Ryoko, Kagato can manipulate heat energy. This allows bolt assorted versions of energy , conjure a gale of intense wind, or to create a beam sword (HKA). The sword appears as a beam of light and acts very much like a lightsaber, but unlike most in the series, his is like a European broadsword. His matter transmutation appears to come from the same source as his energy powers. This attack is much slower than the rest of the attacks and tends to tire him out. This is my opinion why he refuses to do this to any other character. While it seems that Kagato is much like Ryoko, he is much weaker than her. The only way he was able to defeat her was because the Soja incapacitated her body, draining her power from the jewels. Washu even said, "Why isn't she using her full power. It would have been over by now." Kagato bleeds, unlike Ryoko, a greenish substance much like blood. Kagato's powers also come from the Masu, like Ryoko, though his appears to be of a lesser form of this life form. For example, Ryoko has much more strength, cannot duplicate himself (except in shadow form) and bleeds. This is what gave Ryoko the edge in the fight inside Soja.
Kagato is has a much more powerful teleport than Ryoko. He teleported from the earth to his spaceship which was in outer space. He can fly but not with the same potential as the rest of the characters.
When Washu summoned Ayeka to the Reverse Dimension in the villains ship, he sent an astral projection of himself to the other side. He also did this to threaten Ayeka until she told him the location of the Holy Ship.
Appearance: Kagato is a tall medium built man, standing about 6'1", give or take a few inches. He has platinum hair that comes down his shoulders. His eyes are much different than most of the characters in the series, his pupils are small beady black while the yellow retina shows color.
Designer's Notes: In my opinion, what a made Kagato such a unique character was his unbreakable cool. As he was dying he told Tenchi, "You won, boy." Not losing his cool whilst his body disintegrated into nothingness. He was a very "cool" character in personality and style. His entrance into the series was shown by snowfall. Clothing was made of very cool colors as was even his energy attacks. In essence, he was the eye of the storm.
